Posters were on sale at the Mothers nightclub on most nights and cost about a shilling. This small selection includes the poster for the night that Pink Floyd recorded tracks for their ‘Ummagumma’ album (1969) at the club. Also on display is a poster for Rory Gallagher’s band Taste who are often mentioned when gig goers of the time recall the heavy Blues bands that visited Birmingham. Heavy was often the order of the day at Mothers. On one occasion, a fan who always stood close to the stage recalls that the hum from the valve amplifiers was deafening before the gig started.
