THE ARCHIVE: The Jaydee Old Boy replica

On June 20th 2016, I received one of the most iconic guitar of Heavy Metal history in my mail. This guitar is the exact replica of the Jaydee Old Boy John Diggins built for Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath back in the late 70s. Associated with my Laney TI15-112, this guitar is THE guitar to get close to Tony’s live tone ! (close but not the same, you can’t reproduce the feeling of one person’s fingering on the fretboard !). The hand-built process is awesome, Jaydee is a very fine and professionnal  luthier.

I’ve been a fan of Black Sabbath for a relative short time. Everything started back in 2006 (I was 16 years old) when my father asked me if I wanted to go to a concert of Deep Puple in my hometown, Marseille (France). I refused at the time because I only knew “Smoke On The Water” but then I started digging in the vinyl collection of my father. And he told me “You should listen to Black Sabbath – Paranoid LP ; I love Deep Purple but Black Sabbath is my favorite band”. Then, Black Sabbath became MY favorite band since that day. I recognize myself better in the lyrics of Black Sabbath than any other band’s.
