On Wednesday we had our second training session with our Home Of Metal volunteer group, it was held at the Custard Factory. This week we invited Dave Rowan, the official photographer from Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery as well as an award winning artist in his own right, to talk to the group about the best way of photographing objects, he gave us all some really handy hints including talking about how to set up a shoot for archiving purposes.
The second part of the session was delivered by Pete Ashton, giving the group a crash course in the art of blogging. Pete talked about how we might use this blog as a way to describe our own personal journeys and specialist interests in being involved with Home Of Metal, as well as sourcing relevant stuff out on the web. Hopfully as a result members of the team will soon start adding their thoughts and findings to this blog. Can’t wait!!!
