Oral Histories continued – Dez Zonked

Dez Zonked, Black Sabbath mega fan, travelled all the way down from Workington, Cumbria to talk to us in Brum about his story and love for Sabbath.

Today also marks the anniversary of Sabbath’s first ever show. They played in Dez’s home town – Workington – on 30th August 1969 – nearly 5 decades ago.

In the first instalment of Dez’s chat with us, he tells us about one of his most prized possessions, how he came in to possession of it and the gamble he took on going to see Sabbath in America (on his Son’s due date). We have plenty more escapades to come from Dez – a life long fan – & flag runner for the genre in his own right being the front man of his own band. But for now – here’s Part 1 – enjoy!

Pardon the cough, Dez gets quite impassioned when talking Sabbath!
