Home Of Metal meet Jim Simpson

Home of Metal spent some more time with Jim Simpson the other day. Jim was Black Sabbath’s manager at the very start of their career so his recollections about the early days of the group are priceless. Although Jim currently runs a music business that books over 600 gigs a year, releases records (on what must be one of Brtain’s longest established independent record company), organises the Birmingham jazz festival and publishes a bi monthly magazine about UK jazz, he was able to recall some helpful details about the events of 40 years ago. It was particularly interesting to hear details of certain stories corroborated by Jim’s account whilst other published tales are refuted by his recollections.
