Tuesday 2nd

DIY Guitar workshops with Juneau Projects | Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery | 11am – 4pm | £1.50 plus admission
Acclaimed local artists, Ben and Phil aka Juneau Projects, will work with visitors to create electronic instruments from cardboard.  Use cardboard to build your own Telecaster or Flying V, drumkit, keyboard or invent your own instrument.  Then add some simple electronics to trigger sound sample, take to the stage and play!

Wednesday 3rd

Rock Stars! Club | Walsall Leather Museum | 10.30am – 12.30pm (5-7’s) / 1.30pm-3.30pm (8-12’s) | £1.50
Calling all mini rock star wannabes!  Walsall Leather Museum’s summer Wednesday Club will be hosting a whole host of themed workshops inspired by the Home of Metal festival.  Each week there will be an opportunity to work with artists to create your own rock-inspired memorabilia including your own guitar or album cover.

Rock On Day! | Wolverhampton Art Gallery | 11am- 3pm | FREE
In homage to our Home of Metal exhibition, immerse yourself in a day of Rock, both Heavy and Industrial. Rock out with our DJ, make a cardboard guitar with Juneau Projects, bring your fossils for Dr. Fossil to identify and more.

Thursday 4th

Make a HOM Badge | Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery | 11am-4pm | 50p per badge
Use Home of Metal graphics or make up your own images to create a Home of Metal badge.

Guitar School | Wednesbury Museum | 10am | £3.50
Book into one of guitar school workshops on Thursdays during August for young people- sessions for under 12s and over 12s – call the museum for details on 0121 556 0683.

Make Your Own Metal Poster | Wednesbury Museum | 2pm-5pm | £1.50 per item
Have you photo taken in a rock star style then print it out and make a rock start poster to take away.

Friday 5th

Make Your Own Instrument | Wednesbury Museum | 2pm-5pm | £1 pi
Exactly what it says on the tin! Create your own musical instruments!

Customise! Rock Stylin’! | Wolverhampton Art Gallery | 11am-1pm | £2 pi
Rummage through some clothes, or bring your own to change, then add buttons, ribbons and other bits and pieces or cut and chop to make an old thing new!
