The Home of Metal Digital Archive has been developed as a unique resource and forum for music fans globally. The archive was officially launched in 2010 with an exciting event at SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas with Lemmy from Motorhead, establishing the archive as an international resource.

South By South West Festival takes place annually in Austin, Texas. In 2010 we brought a bit of the British weather with us (yip full on rain) to our launch of Home Of Metal which was amazingly well received.

Lemmy who was in Austin to attend the world premiere of the film ‘Lemmy’ about his life, rolled into town in a tour bus with the Home of Metal logo on the side – spreading the word all round Austin about the project. As part of the launch of Home Of Metal Johnny Doom interviewed rock legend Lemmy at the British Music Embassy – the interview was great fun with Lemmy further proving his living legend status and extreme wit.
