Contribute to the Home of Metal Archive

volunteersThe Home of Metal archive is growing larger every day, but we need your help to make it even better. Read on to find out how…

If you haven’t already checked out our archive, take a second to peruse it here. There’s a wealth of metal related goodies, from shirts and elaborately patched jackets to ticket stubs and backstage passes, tour posters and magazine cuttings to tattoos and fan art. Here’s a few examples…

Whilst there’s a small museum’s worth in there already, with your help the archive could be even more comprehensive, vibrant and diverse. We’re sure you must have bags of Black Sabbath paraphernalia at home, and we want to see it. Wherever you are in the world, if you’ve ever sung along to ‘Iron Man’, you can help us.

First of all, log in to our archive and hit the red ‘Add to the Archive!’ button at the bottom of the screen. From there, you can upload photos of your contributions, tell us whether they’re Black Sabbath, Godflesh, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin or Napalm Death related, what year they’re from (well, to the best of your recollection anyway) and any other details you might want to include.

And that’s it! You can sit back in the warm glow that you’ve contributed to Home of Metal’s growing archive, and helped to celebrate one of Birmingham’s most important and cherished exports: metal.

You can also follow Home of Metal on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more news and updates on the Home of Metal project.
